What Should Be Considered in the First 3 Months of Pregnancy?

The first three months of pregnancy, known as the first trimester, are when the baby’s vital organs develop and significant changes begin in the mother’s body. Therefore, there are many important points to pay attention to.

1. Do Not Skip Regular Check-Ups

The first examination and ultrasound are important to confirm that the pregnancy is progressing normally. Do not forget to have your blood tests and screenings done on the dates your doctor recommends.

2. Pay Attention to Nutrition

Folic acid, along with vitamins and minerals such as B12, iron, and calcium, is very important during this period. Avoid processed foods and follow a natural and balanced diet.

3. Be Careful with Medication Use

Some medications may cause miscarriage or developmental problems during pregnancy. Therefore, do not take any medication without consulting your doctor.

4. Fatigue and Nausea Are Normal

Symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, and frequent urination are common during this period. They usually decrease in the second trimester. If you experience excessive vomiting, consult your doctor.

5. Avoid Harmful Habits

Smoking, alcohol, and caffeine should be reduced or completely avoided. You should also stay away from procedures involving radiation, such as X-rays.
